Advantage has partnered with farmers to market their wheat, barley and canola since 2008 with over 4 million tonnes of Australian grain delivered into the programs. At the time of inception, the Advantage Grain pools were considered an alternative to the AWB grain pools. Over the years the program has evolved to meet changing farmer and market needs, but the core concept of reducing risk by selling an equal portion of grain each month over a set time period has stayed the same.
Advantage is a low risk, structured way to market your grain. The Advantage strategy delivers a low risk approach to grain marketing. It sells an equal amount of grain over a 2, 4, 5 or 10 month time period. This strategy assists you to participate in any potential price rise post harvest and removes the risk of selling all your grain at the market lows, either at harvest or throughout the year.
